Offering a vast selection of traditional dishes and their special in-house creations, Omar Khans attempts to entice customers in a very competitive local market.

The Venue
Situated opposite the bingo hall and near all the main night clubs in Bradford, Omar Khans has arguably one of the best locations for walk-in business. From the outside, the venue has the look of a small mansion, largely due to its pillars at the door and the authentic-looking palm trees in the gardens. Upon entry, the inside has a lovely separate bar area for you to relax in. The main dining area is reminiscent of a very plush and luxurious living room in a stately home, something that sets the tone for the evening.

The Atmosphere
Due to the surroundings, the vibe is cosy and comfortable. Staff are very quick to place orders, they know their menu inside out and are willing to accommodate any amendments to certain dishes. Even though there are night clubs nearby, once inside you will not hear any loud music or revellers, even at weekends.

The Food
An extensive menu covers a fantastic array of choices. One of the picks from the starters is the chicken liver lasooni (£3), which sees the liver covered in cumin. The cumin infuses into every essence of the liver which helps to give it an enriching mouth-watering taste, and the addition of some coriander only enhances this further.

A highlight from the mains is the jhinga khas (£9.95), a dish containing king prawns. Substantial portions are the name of the game at OK’s, and the prawns are large, juicy and salty. The dish also has hints of ginger, but the overall flavour is sumptuous and the sauce, which has a light salty texture too, compliments the prawns beautifully.

If you still have room there is a great choice of desserts, and with a name like caramel fantastica (£2.95), you may well be tempted. Comprising of vanilla and caramel ice cream, bits of toffee and chocolate balls engulfed in yet more caramel sauce, sweet-toothed people will be in heaven. This dish may leave you a little queasy if you finish it all.

The Drink
A selection of wines, draught beers, teas, coffee and soft drinks are all available. An Argentinean white, Trivento Chardonnay (£9.95), accompanies the aforementioned meal very well. A very light wine blending orange and peach flavours, it piques the taste of each course, in particular the indulgent dessert.

The Last Word
Omar Khans is a restaurant where you should make full use of the extensive menu. They state themselves that all dishes are uniquely OK, but they are significantly better than that.
